About the firm

Founded on the idea that clients deserve their lawyer's full attention

Wilson Bennett Law Group was founded in 2011 by John Wilson and Marcus Bennett, two Ghanaian attorneys who met while pupillaging at the same chambers and later built a practice on the same principle: a client should never feel like a file number.

Today the firm has grown to six lawyers across six practice areas, but the caseload per attorney is still capped well below the local average, so every client gets direct access to the lawyer handling their matter — not a rotating cast of clerks.

We are proud to be a Ghanaian firm serving clients nationwide, from families to growing local businesses.

01

Direct access to your attorney

You will have the cell number of the attorney on your case, not just an intake line.

02

Flat-fee clarity where possible

We quote flat fees for defined matters and explain hourly billing plainly when it applies.

03

Trial-ready from day one

Cases are prepared as if they are going to trial, which is exactly why most of them settle well.

04

Community-rooted

We offer a reduced-fee clinic on the first Saturday of every month for the communities we serve.

Frequently asked questions

Answers to what most new clients ask before their first consultation.

Yes. The first consultation, whether by phone or in person, is free and typically runs 30 to 45 minutes. There is no obligation to hire the firm afterward.

It depends on the matter. Personal injury cases are typically handled on contingency, meaning we only get paid if you do. Many family law, real estate, and business matters are billed as a flat fee, which we quote up front. Litigation that requires an unpredictable amount of court time is billed hourly, and we explain that rate before any work begins.

Most of our caseload is in the Greater Accra and Ashanti regions, and we regularly appear before the Circuit and High Courts in Accra and Kumasi, as well as the Ghana Immigration Service. We can discuss representation outside this area on a case-by-case basis.

For flat-fee matters, we can typically split payment into two or three installments tied to milestones in the case. Ask your attorney about this during your consultation.

Bring any documents related to your matter — contracts, police reports, court notices, or correspondence — along with a photo ID. If you are unsure what applies, bring everything you have and we will sort through it together.
